Customer Review: Excellent semi-permanant wiring for my WolfBox G340 Mirror Camera. I tried the Fuze-Tap adapter, which worked, until a fuze fell out and it took my Alternator out. Then I tried a different OBD2 power box, with a voltage display. It never shut off, until my battery was low. Now THIS OBD2 power adapter works exactly like I want: With the rocker switch in the 0 position, my Mirror Cam is powered up as soon as I start my car, and shuts down 20 minutes after I turn my car off. If I wanted continuous recording, the 1 position will do that, and still has the Low Voltage shutoff, preserving power to start your car again. I especially appreciate that the power cord isn’t ridiculously long, too. But it’s plenty long enough to route through the door trim and headliner to my Mirror. I examined the OBD connector to make sure it wasn’t tapping anything but the power and ground pins, so there’s no chance it’s going to damage my car’s CANBUSS otcpmpluter. My OBD socket I .my CRV is below my steering wheel and near the under dash center console cover. The narrow side of the socket is “up” and wide side is “down”. This is perfect for me, because I plug in the Power Adapter and the power cord comes out the Left side, and points towards the driver’s door. This makes it an easy install, and very clean wiring to my mirror cam. USB-C camera connector, so it’s very clean at the camera, too. I’m very pleased with this power adapter.

It’s sophisticated device with a number of selections of how you want it to operate via a switch on the plug, and it includes an LED readout of the voltage of the car power system on the back of the plug. I plugged it into the port and then very easily fished the power cable tp through a spot under the steering column and I was able to run the cable in a way so that very little of the cable is visible when I plug it into my removable dash cam, which is on a mount on my dashboard. It came with a plastic tool that was surprisingly useful for helping tuck the cable into a seam minimizing its visibility. I now just have a small span of cable that is visible and I just plug it into the dash cam and put the dash cam on the mount and I’m ready to go, and then if I want I just take the dash cam off the mount and unplug it and very little is visible in the car cabin. Previously I had a cable stretching from a cigarette lighter adapter up and across the front of the radio area not a very attractive look. It’s much better now and it all looks great.
