Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “My wife and I just purchased a new car, so investing in a dash cam was a must. This one certainly gives the most for the price. The front, cabin, and rear cameras are all crystal clear, and the bonus of GPS monitoring and speed tracking makes this camera perfect for what we need. There is plenty of space on the SD card, and being able to connect to the camera via wifi to view and save files makes things very simple. Installation was a breeze; I just plugged into the 12V car outlet and ran the cable through the bottom of the dash and up the A-pillar. The camera just suctions to the windshield, so it can be easily moved if needed. This camera supports the parking mode, but you would need to hardwire it into the car’s wiring, and I opted not to do that at the moment. Overall, I think this camera is great and gives me a little more peace of mind when on the road.”

Customer Review: “Clear! Stable! Reliable! That’s my summary of it. Both the front and rear cameras are high-definition, and even in rainy weather, the license plates of cars ahead remain clear. The in-car camera has sufficient resolution, providing clear night vision even at night. The WDR technology is truly effective; even under bright sunlight during the day, there were no overexposed or completely black images when entering or exiting underground parking garages. The 170-degree field of view provides wide coverage, reducing blind spots. Connecting to a mobile phone via the 5.8G channel provides almost zero latency for viewing live footage. The emergency lock function is very sensitive; during a sudden stop, it immediately protected the video footage. 24-hour parking monitoring combined with motion detection makes it excellent value for money!”

Customer Review: “I was impressed by how quickly I had this system up and running. Some dual-camera setups feel like a weekend project, but the installation here was straightforward and didn’t require me to overthink the wiring or the mounting process. The video quality is where this really stands out. The footage from both the front and the rear is sharp and easy to watch back. I noticed that the details stay crisp even when there is a lot of motion on the road, which is exactly what I want if I ever actually need to use the footage for something important. The screen on the unit itself is bright enough to see clearly from the driver’s seat without being a distraction.Having the storage card already in the unit meant I could start recording the first time I turned my car on. The build feels sturdy, and the interface is simple enough that I wasn’t digging through menus just to check a recording. This is a great choice for any driver who wants high-quality video coverage without a complicated installation process.”

The 4K resolution from the dual cameras are crystal clear, and we finally feel confident we’ll capture important details if anything happens. The long cord reaches the back of our vehicle easily, and the dual-screen display is surprisingly helpful. Customer Reviews

Customer Review: ‘I wanted a dash cam that was easy to set up, didn’t require a lot of fiddling, and would give me good evidence if someone hit me. The COOLCRAZY fit the bill. Why I chose this one over others:GPS was a must for me: A few years ago, I was in a minor accident where the other driver claimed I ran a stop sign. I didn’t have a dash cam at all, so it was my word against his. My insurance paid out, and my rates went up. This time, I wanted GPS stamping so there would be no question about speed or location. The COOLCRAZY’s GPS locks on quickly (about 20‑30 seconds after starting the car), and the speed and coordinates are burned right into the video.Included 128GB card – no hassle: I’m on a fixed income, so saving $30‑40 on a memory card matters to me. The camera came with a 128GB card already installed, and I didn’t have to buy anything extra. I’ve been using it for a month, and the card has been reliable – no corruption or errors. The camera loops automatically, so I never have to delete files manually.Sony STARVIS 4K – clearer than I expected: I’m not a video expert, but I can tell the difference between this and my neighbor’s budget dash cam. The footage is sharp, and I can read license plates without zooming in. At night, it’s surprisingly good – I drove through a poorly lit parking lot last week, and the video still showed the lines on the pavement and the numbers on the spaces. The screen shows me it’s working: This sounds basic, but it’s important. The screen has a red dot that blinks when recording. I glance at it every time I start the car. If I ever see it not blinking, I’ll know something is wrong. With a screenless dash cam, you might drive for weeks without realizing it stopped recording.A few downsides – none are dealbreakers:The outer shipping box had a small tear, but the product box was in perfect shape. The camera itself had no damage at all. The seller’s packaging is good – foam inserts and a sturdy inner box.Final thoughts: This is a straightforward, well‑built dash cam. It doesn’t have gimmicks or unnecessary features. The GPS, included 128GB storage, and Sony 4K sensor are the main reasons I bought it, and they all work as promised. If you want a reliable camera that won’t nickel‑and‑dime you for a memory card, the COOLCRAZY is a smart buy.’

Customer Review: ‘I am a ride share driver and was told I should get a dash cam in my car for my own safety. I tested 4 different models of cameras and this blows them all away. This camera has excellent resolution is easy to install and operate. The audio recording is crystal clear. SELLER DOES NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT PRODUCT NO SUPPORT’

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: ‘I am very pleased with the camera. The clarity of the videos is great. The wiring kit was straight forward to install and works fine.I purchased the ROVE R2-4K PRO and Dash Cam hard-wire kit.Initially I purchased another SD card but after reading the ROVE documentation, I returned the card and purchased the ROVE SD card. I don’t need problems. There are many things I like about the camera and wiring kit.The first thing I noticed when I opened the camera box is there is a ribbon that holds the lid, nice touch.I installed the camera myself and there was a learning curve.Mounting the camera was easy.Initially I used the suction mount to try different locations. Then I used the sticky mountfor the final install because the mount went on the area of the windshield that has the black dots, frits, and the suction mount does not stick to that area. One thing I learned was when I switched from the suction mount to the sticky mount I was not sure how to get the mount off of the camera. It clicks on when you install the mount, and I did not want to break anything. But what I found is the bases for the mounts are the same so you just need to unscrew the top part of the mount, easy.Another thing to be aware of is if you use the sticky mount the part of the mount that goes on the windshield has a slot for the camera to slide into. Be careful to install it with the slot up, or the camera will fall out of the mount.Although the manuals that were included with the camera and wiring kit were excellent, as good as I have seen on products lately, there was still a learning curve for me.I chose the wiring kit because I did not want the wires hanging down and I really liked the fact the wiring kit has a feature that protects the battery from being run down if the car is not driven for a while. There are settings on the wiring kit that will shut the camera off if the voltage drops below a voltage that you select. I chose 12.2V and did test it and it worked properly.I watched Youtube videos of what fuse locations to use. When I did the initial install the camera turned on but did not go into park mode when I shut the car off. I ended up calling ROVE for help.I was very impressed with their help.I called and their message recommended I text so I did and they responded right away.We handled all my questions via texts, which worked well as I was able to organize my thoughts and include pictures. With their help, I ended up choosing a different fuse slot and now the camera works fine.On the install, I used the trim tool that was included with the kit, nice touch.I also used the little wire clips with sticky backs that were included with the wiring kit, another nice touch.’

Customer Review: “Edited again on 8/1/2024After my July 24, 2024 editing when I changed from 5 star to 2 star because of my not-so-pleasant experience with the customer service, ROVE once again reached out to me on July 25 apologizing for the mix up and my disappointment with the whole memory card experience. They wanted to make things right and offered me to send a new memory card after all. This was very nice of them. They were trying to make good for my stupidity of returning the memory card with the camera and despite some misunderstanding between me and them, they came through and send me a new memory card which I received yesterday.I am more than satisfied with the outcome and once again, laud the company for going out of their way to keep me happy despite some bumps in the way.Thank you ROVE team, you have my sincerest admiration for setting things right – despite my initial fault. Finally, as for the camera itself, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – it’s a wonderful product in its category and the low price makes the deal even more sweeter. Buy it, you won’t regret it. It’s loaded with features and the picture quality is absolutely awesome. Once you add the $20 filter on it, pictures become even more crisp and vibrant. It’s a no brainer!—————————–Edited to add -(July 24, 2024)Just as soon as I posted this ‘wonderful’ experience from the support team at ROVE Dash Cam, I was informed the whole thing was a huge mistake and they will NOT be sending me the memory card as promised. This was AFTER they sent me a tracking email telling me when to expect it.According to Jeniffer, the person who was trying to help me, her manager said ROVE was not responsible for my mistake and I should take up my case with Amazon.Just to be clear, I NEVER asked them to send me a new memory card; I simply asked them that if they find my memory card in the returned item, I’d appreciate if they would mail it back to me and I’ll gladly pay the postage. It was ROVE that got my hopes high and promised to send me a new memory card that I NEVER asked for it.So after my review below, the whole thing soured within a matter of minutes and left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I’ve decided it’s not worth my time to pursue the case with Amazon so I’ll just cut my loss and move on but please be aware that the company failed to keep up its words after taking me to a emotional roller coaster ride – not to mention the waste of time in communicating with them and writing the below review on Amazon. As for the product, I stand by my comments. 5 stars. But the way they handled my case – 2 stars.Someone at ROVE will receive the return product and he/she will find my 512gb ROVE memory card in it with my dash cam videos on it. To that person, maybe you’ll have more integrity than the company and will mail back my memory card. However, I am not holding my breath.———————————-My original review below:Folks, before I begin, let me put it in the most simplest way – this is a great product at a wonderful price. If you are in the market of buying a dash cam for your vehicle, buy this ROVE R2-4K PRO Dash Cam with built-in GPS, 5G WiFi and many more amazing features. You can’t go wrong. Period!! From unboxing to set-up to the picture quality – everything is simply top-notch.Now with my story – I bought this dash cam a couple of weeks before the Amazon Prime Day for a price of roughly $140. I also bought a ROVE memory card with 512gb capacity and a anti-glare filter to go with the camera. All was going well until Amazon Prime Day when the price of this camera dropped to $85. Naturally, I was not too thrilled about it for paying $55 more just a few days ago. Luckily for me, the product was still within the refundable period. So I initiated a refund and reordered the same product – this time for only $85.So I removed the lens filter from the lens, packed up the product in its original box and dropped it at our local Kohl’s drop center for a full refund. Imagine my horror when one day later, I realized that I had left the 512gb memory card ($65) in the camera!!After cursing myself for a couple of hours for my stupidity, I sent an email to the support department of the ROVE Dash Cam company explaining what I had done. At that point I figured I had nothing to lose but there was no harm in taking a chance. Not expecting any response, I resigned to my loss and my mistake preparing myself to forget the whole thing and just buy another memory card.My frustration, anger, and disappointment turned into excitement when within an hour, I received a reply from Jennifer, a support person at ROVE Dash Cam company, who said she’d do her best to resolve this issue if I could send her the original order # from Amazon.Seeing a glimmer of hope ahead of me, I immediately send her the required information and this morning, when I checked the email, I saw Jennifer’s response saying she had shipped a new memory card to me without any cost to me.Now folks, I don’t know about you but a company that not only makes a wonderful product but also backs it up with an equally wonderful support is a rare thing these days. They have earned my loyalty for life and I will not only not hesitate in buying their other products but will also encourage people (who are looking for dash cam for their vehicles) to do business with them. With them, not only you get a great product but also a peace of mind. I may sound like a paid customer but trust me, I am not. I am just another regular customer like you who is pleasantly surprised (and satisfied) by this level of customer service. My heartfelt thank to Jennifer and the entire ROVE team for such a wonderful experience. If I could give them 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat.”

Complete Buying Guide for Dash Cam

Essential Factors We Consider

When evaluating the best brands for dash cam, we prioritize image quality, durability, ease of use, and added features like GPS or night vision. Resolution (ideally 4K or higher), field of view (140°–170°), loop recording, G-sensor alerts, and smartphone compatibility are must-haves. Reliability under temperature extremes and resistance to vibration also play key roles in long-term performance.

Budget Planning

Entry-level dash cams start around $50–$80, while mid-range models with dual cameras and GPS typically cost $120–$200. Premium systems with ADAS, 4K+, and hardwired parking modes can exceed $300. Always factor in memory card costs—some bundles include high-capacity cards, saving you $30–$70 upfront.

Final Thoughts

Choosing among the best dash cam brands comes down to your specific needs: size, resolution, connectivity, and extra features. Whether you value compactness (Garmin), triple-channel clarity (BOTSLAB), or smart alerts (Coolcrazy), there’s a proven winner for every driver profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What resolution should I look for in a dash cam?

A: For optimal detail and evidence quality, aim for at least 1080p Full HD. However, 4K dash cams offer significantly sharper footage, especially for identifying license plates and road signs. If budget allows, 4K is recommended.

Q: Do I need a memory card with my dash cam?

A: Many modern dash cams require a microSD card (usually Class 10 or higher) to store video. Some brands include one (like Garmin or BOTSLAB), but others don’t—always check specifications before purchasing.

Q: Can dash cams record while the car is parked?

A: Yes, many models support parking mode, but it often requires hardwiring to your car’s electrical system to avoid draining the battery. Look for systems with low-power modes or built-in voltage protection.

Q: Are voice-controlled dash cams worth it?

A: Voice control adds convenience by letting you start/stop recordings hands-free—useful if your hands are occupied or gloves are on. It’s a nice feature, though not essential for most users.

Q: How do I choose between single and dual-camera systems?

A: Single cameras focus on the road ahead and interior. Dual systems add a rear camera for full coverage, which is valuable in crowded cities or for ride-share drivers. Consider your typical driving environment.

In conclusion, selecting the best dash cam brand isn’t just about specs—it’s about finding a system that fits your lifestyle, budget, and safety priorities. From the pocket-sized Garmin Mini 3 to the feature-rich BOTSLAB 4K triple-channel model, each reviewed here delivers proven performance backed by real user experiences. Remember to match resolution, storage, and connectivity features to your needs, and don’t overlook customer support and included accessories. With the right dash cam, you’re not just protecting your vehicle—you’re gaining peace of mind every mile you drive. Ready to upgrade your drive?
